Tad
Tad is another detection canine from the United States Border Patrol. He is currently retired and living in Texas with his handler. After retirement, Tad developed spine issues that require laser therapy to ease his pain. We are very pleased to assist with his care. Thank you for all your support.

Rocky
Rocky is a retired detection canine from the United States Border Patrol. Rocky served faithfully for his handler for 9 years. Rocky was retired from service in 2014 and is enjoying his free time in sunny California. Unfortunately, Rocky has developed severe arthritis and requires monthly pain medication to keep him comfortable. We at Retired Paws are very happy to assist Rocky with his care.

GINO
Gino is a retired detection canine from the United States Border Patrol. He started his career in December of 2008 and worked in southern Arizona where he was very successful. He needed to be retired in May of 2014 after he was diagnosed with Lumbar Spondylosis and it became too painful for him to work. We at Retired Paws are very happy to assist Gino with his medical care and pain medication.

DERAM
Deram is a retired detection canine from the United States Border Patrol. He has been enjoying his retirement in sunny California the past few years. Deram developed an “issue” with his “man parts” and needed emergency treatment. It was a little sensitive in nature and we do not want to embarrass him by divulging too much information. We were very happy to help Deram in his time of need.

AUSTEN
Austen is a retired detection canine from the United States Border Patrol. Austen has a tumor in his mouth which causes him discomfort at times. We are very happy to help pay for Austen’s pain medications. Austen was responsible for seizing over 43,000 pounds of marijuana in his long career with the USBP!

FLUP
Flup is a retired detection canine from the United States Border Patrol. He has been retired for several years and enjoying his retirement in sunny Arizona. In December of 2014, a mast tumor was found in Flup’s chest that needed to be removed. The tumor was successfully removed and Flup is enjoying life to the fullest. We at Retired Paws are extremely happy to help pay for Flup’s medical bills.

SHANE
K9 Shane joined the Gurnee Police Department in 2006. Shane worked tirelessly for 8yrs with his partner and recently retired in June. Shane was certified in narcotics, patrol, cadaver, and track and trailing. Over the years Shane continued to work disregarding prostrate issues, allergies, and arthritis. As of recent, the pads on his elbows are constantly infected and have needed surgical repair. Due to being in an area prone to movement the repair is proving to be very difficult. Shane has undergone 2 surgeries since retiring and is now seeing a surgical specialist to help assist in keeping him as healthy and happy as possible. We at Retired Paws are very happy to assist Shane with his medical care.

RIGGS
Canine Riggs was retired from the Phoenix Police Department after serving for six years. Riggs was a dual purpose canine with both Patrol and Narcotic Detection Certifications. He retired in September of 2013. Riggs is enjoying his retirement but suffers from Valley Fever, seizures and skin aliments. Retired Paws is happy to help pay for his monthly medications, which can be very costly.

MACHO-A
Macho-A is a retired detection canine from the United States Border Patrol. Macho has been enjoying the past few months of retirement living in southern Arizona with his handler. Unfortunately, on August 15, 2014, Macho was bitten by a diamondback rattlesnake while he was in his yard. He was rushed to the emergency vet’s office to be treated. The venom was already having devastating effects on Macho. He needed three vials of anti-venom to fully recover. We are very glad to say that Macho is doing much better and is at home relaxing. His vet bill was close to $4,000.00. We at Retired Paws were very happy to assist in paying for his medical care. Thank you to all our generous donors who make this possible.

DONNA
Donna is a retired detection canine from the United States Border Patrol. She is loving her retired life, and enjoys spending time with the rest of her pack and handler.
