Blitz is a retired dual purpose (Detection/Patrol) canine from the Pima County Sheriff’s Office (AZ). Blitz worked with PCSO from November 2010 until April 2016. He was retired due to a series of health problems: degenerative arthritis in his spine, parianal fistula, and valley fever. He requires daily medicaiton.Read More

KIRBY

Kirby is a retired detection canine from the Bensalem Police Department (PA). Kirby worked from March of 2006 until June of 2014. Kirby was assigned to the DEA Task Force for most of her career where she was responsible for seizing over $100 million dollars in drugs. She won the American Kennel Club Award for Canine Excellence in 2012! She is a great dog.Read More

SUE

Sue is a retired detection canine from the Bureau of Indian Affairs. She worked for the BIA in North Dakota from 2010 until 2014 when she was retired due to hip dysplasia. Sue was adopted by a her handler’s coworker after she retired, and immediately became part of the family.Read More

AJAX

Ajax is a retired dual purpose canine from the Chesapeake Police Department in Virginia. He retired from service in October of 2014. In June of 2016, Ajax broke his ankle and needed surgery. He also suffered from complications from the anesthesia and almost didn’t recover. Thankfully, he is a fighter and pulled through. I’m happy to say that he is recovering at home and still enjoying the retired life.Read More

TJANDO

Tjando is a retired dual purpose canine from the Yavapai Police Department in Arizona. He was a fantastic working canine and partner. Tjando was in service from 2007 until March of 2015. Throughout his career, Tjando was responsible for seizing approximatley $350,000 in currency, 40 pounds of methamphetamine, and 400 pounds of marijuana. He was loved by many children. Tjando recently suffered from a hernia which needed surgery. We were very happy to pay for his medical bills. Tjando is doing well and recoving at home. He loves the retired life!

LEO

Leo is a retired detection canine from United States Customs. Leo worked in a very busy port-of-entry in Southern Arizona. He is now retired and enjoying his time living as a pet with his handler. Leo was retired after being diagnosed with Myasthenia Gravis and requires daily medication to keep him happy and healthy.

REX-XX

Rex-xx is a retired detection canine from the United States Border Patrol. Rex worked for over 6 years protecting this country. Unfortunately, Rex was diagnosed with an aggressive form of cancer earlier this year (2016). He gave it all he had, but Heaven gained a new warrior.

I was saddened to hear of Rex’s passing. He was an awesome working canine, and I actually had the privilege of training him when I became an instructor for the USBP. He was your typical crazy Mal!

RIP Rex-xx!! You will be missed.

TOSKA-B

Toska-B is a retired detection canine from the United States Border Patrol. Toska-B began service in 2010 and worked in the Laredo Sector. Unfortunately, Toska-B was diagnosed with cancer after her retirement. Due to the aggressive nature of the cancer, her leg needed to be amputated. Chemotherapy will be started shortly. She is fighter and we are all optimistic.

Beny-A is a retired detection canine from the United States Border Patrol. Beny-A served his country for 8 years working in the Tucson Sector. He was a fantastic working canine and partner. He retired due to spondylitis and moved to California to enjoy his retirement. Retired Paws is glad we are able to assist in paying for Beny-A’s medical bills.

THUNDER

Thunder is a retired patrol canine from the Fairfax County Sheriff’s Department. While his owner was vacationing in Florida, Thunder developed bloat while he was in kennel facility. Fortunately, the kennel staff recognized the symptoms and rushed Thunder to the vet. We are happy to say that Thunder fully recovered but upon his owner’s return, he was faced with a $6,000.00 vet bill. We are very happy to help pay for Thunder’s medical bills.
